Equipment

  • Jar or serving glass
  • Muddler (or spoon for muddling)
  • Juicer (if using fresh oranges)

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon cut into wedges, seeds removed
  • 1 orange for fresh juice, or use canned orange juice
  • 5-6 fresh mint leaves
  • 25-30 ml sugar syrup adjust to taste
  • A pinch of black salt
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Soda water club soda
  • Extra lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare Lemon and Orange:
Slice 1 lemon into wedges and remove any seeds. These will be used for garnishing and flavor.
Cut 1 orange in half and extract the juice. If fresh oranges aren’t available, canned or tetra-packed orange juice can be used as a substitute.
  • Muddle Ingredients:
In a jar or glass, add the lemon wedges and 5-6 fresh mint leaves.
Gently muddle the lemon and mint leaves together to release their flavors.
  • Add Ice and Flavorings:
Add ice cubes, filling the jar halfway. Crushed ice can also be used for a different texture.
Pour in 25-30 ml of sugar syrup and add a pinch of black salt for a savory twist.
Add a few lemon slices to the jar for extra flavor.
  • Add Orange Juice and Soda:
Pour the freshly squeezed orange juice over the ice and lemon mixture.
Top off with soda water (club soda) for fizz.
  • Stir and Garnish:
Stir gently to mix all the ingredients together.
Garnish with extra lemon slices for presentation.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
Serve chilled and enjoy this refreshing orange mojito!

Notes

  • If fresh oranges are unavailable, you can skip them and use orange soda (such as Fanta or Mirinda) instead of orange juice. In this case, omit the sugar syrup since the soda already contains sugar.
  • For extra freshness, serve immediately after preparing. You can also experiment with different types of citrus fruits for a varied flavor.
