Equipment

  • High-powered blender
  • Glasses for serving

Ingredients

For the Margarita:

  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ½ cup white tequila 100% blue agave blanco recommended
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or triple sec
  • Ice optional, for thicker consistency
  • Lime wheels and fresh strawberries for garnish

For the Mocktail Version:

  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup water
  • 1-2 tablespoons simple syrup optional, for sweetness

Instructions

  • Blend the Base:
In a high-powered blender, combine half of the frozen strawberries, lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur. Blend on high until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Adjust Consistency:
With the blender running, add the remaining frozen strawberries one at a time until the desired smooth consistency is reached. Add ice if you want a thicker texture, or a splash of water to thin it out.
  • Serve:
Pour the margarita into glasses (rimmed with lime and sugar, if desired). Garnish with lime wheels or fresh strawberries.
  • Mocktail Version:
For a non-alcoholic version, blend frozen strawberries, lime juice, orange juice, water, and simple syrup until smooth. Serve as described above.

Notes

  • If you prefer a sweeter margarita, you can add a splash of simple syrup to taste.
  • You can substitute fresh strawberries for frozen; just add ice for a slushy texture.
  • For a larger batch, simply multiply the ingredient quantities. Blend in batches for the best consistency.
  • Store any leftover margarita in the freezer and thaw slightly before serving.
