Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Small saucepan
  • Tongs or spatula

Ingredients

For the Cauliflower Wings:

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk (any type; soy milk used in this recipe)
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 scallion, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for a thicker sauce)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Cauliflower Wings
Wash and cut the cauliflower head into bite-sized florets.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
Roll the coated florets in panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to help them adhere.
  • Step 2: Cook the Cauliflower Wings
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Arrange the cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
Air fry for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crispiness.
  • Step 3: Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce
While the cauliflower is cooking, make the teriyaki sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
Cook over medium-high heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
If you prefer a stickier sauce, dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 1 tablespoon of water, then stir it into the sauce and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  • Step 4: Coat & Garnish
Once the cauliflower florets are crispy and golden, transfer them to a bowl.
Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cauliflower and toss until evenly coated.
Garnish with sliced scallions and sesame seeds.
  • Step 5: Serve & Enjoy
Serve immediately while warm and crispy. Enjoy as an appetizer, side dish, or main course!
