Ingredients
  

  • Potatoes: 650g (approximately 4 medium-sized potatoes)
  • Sausages: 4-6 (depending on size)
  • Flour: 1 cup (for coating)
  • Eggs: 2 (beaten, for coating)
  • Bread crumbs: 1 cup (for coating)
  • Mozzarella Cheese: Sliced or shredded,enough to wrap around the sausages
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon (for seasoning the potatoes)
  • Pepper: A pinch (for seasoning the potatoes)
  • Cooking oil: For frying
  • Water: 4-5 tablespoons (for steaming the potatoes)
  • Ketchup and mustard: For serving (optional)

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

  • Peel and cut the potatoes into small pieces for quicker cooking.
  • Place the potatoes in a microwave-safe container and add 4-5 tablespoons of water.
  • Microwave the potatoes for a total of 10 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • Once fully cooked, drain any excess water and mash the potatoes. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of pepper for seasoning.

Step 2: Prepare the Sausages and Cheese

  • Slice small slits on both sides of the sausages to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook the sausages in a pan over low heat until browned on all sides, then set aside to cool.
  • Wrap each sausage in mozzarella cheese.

Step 3: Assemble the Potato Hot Dogs

  • Take some mashed potatoes and carefully wrap them around the cheese-covered sausages, forming a smooth shape.
  • Once fully covered, dip each potato-wrapped sausage into the flour, ensuring an even coat.
  • Next, dip the floured sausage into the beaten eggs, followed by rolling it in the bread crumbs for a crispy coating.
  • Insert a stick through the sausage to make it easier to handle.

Step 4: Fry the Potato Hot Dogs

  • Heat cooking oil in a pan to medium heat.
  • Carefully place the potato hot dogs into the oil and fry for about 2 minutes or until the outside is golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Step 5: Serve

  • Serve the hot dogs with ketchup and mustard, or enjoy them plain for the full potato flavor.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of cheese and sausage according to your preference.
  • You can add spices or herbs like parsley to the mashed potatoes for extra flavor.
