Ingredients
  

For the Potato Filling:

  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 1 ½ cups half & half
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

For the Cobbler Dough:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter, cold and cubed
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the PotatoesPreheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
    In the dish, combine potato slices, half & half, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix well to evenly coat the potatoes.
    Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until the potatoes begin to soften.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Cobbler Dough
    While the potatoes are baking, prepare the dough.
    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
    Add cold butter cubes and cut into the flour mixture using a pastry blender, two forks, or your hands until the mixture forms a crumbly texture.
    Pour in milk and stir gently with a wooden spoon.
    Add one egg at a time, mixing after each addition until fully incorporated.
    Stir in shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan until combined.
  • Step 3: Assemble & Bake
    Remove the partially baked potatoes from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
    Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler dough over the potatoes, covering most of the surface.
    Return the dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cobbler topping is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
