Ingredients
  

  • 125g honey
  • 125g granulated sugar
  • 2 egg whites (from medium eggs, ~70g)
  • 250g roasted peanuts
  • (Optional: powdered sugar for dusting)

Instructions
 

  • Heat Honey & Sugar:
    In a saucepan over very low heat, combine honey and sugar. Stir occasionally and cook for about 30 minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture thickens slightly.
  • Whip Egg Whites:
    While the syrup cooks, beat the egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form. You’ll know they’re ready when they don’t fall off the whisk.
  • Combine Mixtures:
    Slowly add the hot syrup one spoonful at a time into the whipped egg whites, mixing well after each addition. This will create a fluffy, glossy mixture.
  • Cook Again:
    Return the combined mixture to the stovetop and cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 30–35 minutes, until it thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  • Add Peanuts:
    Stir in the roasted peanuts and mix until evenly combined. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Shape & Cool:
    Transfer the nougat to a mold or dish (lined with parchment paper), about 14×20 cm in size. Press to flatten. Let it sit at room temperature for a few hours or until fully cooled and set.
  • Serve:
    Optionally dust with powdered sugar. Cut into small squares and enjoy!
